Workshops
The Boulder Potters’ Guild hosts weekend workshops several times a year by some of the best contemporary ceramics artists in the world. Recent workshops have been led by well-respected Colorado artists, such as Blair Meerfeld, internationally acclaimed potter Ruthanne Tudball, crystalline glaze master Xavier Gonzalez and an evening with Marko Fields. Artists working in a variety of firing methods, using a variety of techniques, share their expertise. Sam Chung of Michigan brought his fresh interpretation of the visual and tactile nature of the pottery of Korea and the Song Dynasty of China; Mark Shapiro shared his love of early American pottery and how it influences his imposing salt-fired forms.
Workshops begin with a Friday evening reception and slideshow. Visiting artists offer demonstrations and discussions of their work methods on Saturday (9am–4pm) and Sunday (9am–3pm) with a potluck lunch.
Workshops are held at the Boulder Potters’ Guild, 3185 Sterling Circle, Boulder, Colorado 80301. All are welcome!
