The Guild holds two sales each year featuring members' current work. The sales are a showcase for a wide range of clay work and an opportunity to meet the artists who created it. Guild members work in the full range of clay from the functional to the sculptural. Members vary tremendously in their styles and the types of work they present. All types of clay and firings can be found at sales including earthenware, raku, pit fired work, high fired pieces and salt and soda fired porcelains and stoneware. In addition some members also create work in other mediums and show work by artists in their families.
Both sales are held at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont. Our Spring sale is at the beginning of May and usually features garden-themed work as well as a full range of members' work. Our Fall sale is held toward the beginning to the middle of November and again features a wide range of ceramics. The sale is staffed by the members and so gives visitors the chance to meet the artists and talk with them about their work. Periodically we also sponsor a "seconds sale" of members' past and slightly imperfect work. The seconds sales are usually held in August at the Guild building, 3185 Sterling Circle, in Boulder.
We announce our Spring and Fall sales via e-mail, post cards, and advertisements in local newspapers. Please send us your e-mail and/or street address if you would like to be added to our notification list. Seconds sales are advertised in the Boulder Daily Camera classifieds. Notification is also sent via email. No postcards are sent for the seconds sales.
