In my professional work life the realization of a design is months and sometimes years away.  What draws me to clay is that it is the opposite, clay responds immediately to every intent, every touch.

Handmade pottery is a way for art to touch many people’s lives in an intimate way that a painting, sculpture or performance work cannot; an artful cup is appreciated daily, it is lovingly held as it is filled and put to the lips.  However, it is a performance, ephemeral, existing in a place, a time, once broken, gone forever.

Making the mundane into art is my ambition.
