About Us
The Boulder Potters’ Guild is a non-profit cooperative founded in 1969 for the purpose of promoting clay arts. We have about 70 members and apprentices who work with clay in a variety of ways from the functional to the sculptural. Our goal is to provide a vibrant facility where members can come together to grow as artists and students can learn to work with clay. Our studio provides members the facilities to work together and individually to make, glaze, and fire our work. We offer classes for all levels of students. We also hold workshops with nationally and internationally known potters. Twice a year, in May and November, we hold sales at the Boulder County Fairgrounds.
The Guild is an all volunteer organization financed by member dues, proceeds from our sales, workshops and classes plus grants. We are a Tier III Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) organization. Members are also encouraged to share their skills with the community and by donating their art work to various fund raising events.
Please refer to the other pages for specific information on classes, membership, special events and sales as well as a list of our current members under the Artists page. We encourage you to contact us via e-mail or phone for further information or to arrange a tour of our facility.
The Boulder Potters' Guild celebrates it's 40th Anniversary with a retrospective at the Boulder Public Library in October 2009. Check the Special Events pages for further details later in the year.
